Comet Global Consulting is a fast growing consultancy that specializes in inbound and outbound CRM, marketing and decision management solutions. We deliver high-impact strategy and technical consulting and provide ongoing development and operational support services. Initiatives are led by Client Engagement and Practice Leads with the expectation that the Lead System Architect will be involved from project definition through full project delivery, implementation and ongoing support.

Summary of Position

The Lead System Architect (PEGA) is responsible for design, implementation and development of back end and Pega solutions that meet the client’s requirements. The LSA has a wide range of technical and Pega experience in many industries. 

The ideal candidate will design solutions based in client business requirements or modify current solutions to meet changing needs, and have wide range of system integration experience in many industries.

Major Responsibilities

Technical Integration

  • Coordinate the definition, integration, data mapping of client environment to Pega application
  • Work closely with the client IT staff to determine the correct solution for each data source
    • Recommend technical solutions based on client’s requirements
    • Recommend technical modification based on the changing need of the client
  • Lead the planning, design and implementation of system integration initiatives
  • Assesses and recommends hardware and software needs for the project that allows growth over time
  • Translates client business issues into solutions
  • Support both the business requirements gathering and documentation development

High-Level Architectural Design

  • Assess client environment, data sources and technical platform providing complex technical solutions that will enable and support multi-channel and interactive customer decisioning strategies
  • Design and implement architectural design of the Pega application
  • Provide technical leadership to those with less experience in system integration technologies
  • Provide estimates of work, assist with resource/time allocations, properly follow project life cycle, develop and document technical designs, support testing cycles and support software implementations
  • Meet with clients and other members of the project team to identify or clarify implementation and integration requirements to better achieve desired outcomes
  • Recommend technical solutions to project team and/or offer alternative solutions when appropriate
  • Facilitates communication between all key IT groups and the client community through meeting participation

  • Implements and maintains a personal development program that focuses on maintaining currency and enhancing technical skills in the areas of Information Technology and Marketing Automation
  • Proactively identifies own training needs
  • Maintains a reading program that covers recent developments in IT and Marketing techniques

Desired Skills and Experience

Education

  • Engineering, Science or Computer Science undergraduate degree/diploma, or equivalent work experience

Experience & Knowledge

  • 5 years design and development experience with Pega PRPC including expert knowledge in decisioning applications
  • 5 years of Java/J2EE experience or related technologies required
  • 10 years’ experience in inbound marketing/marketing technology or similar IT projects
  • Ability to travel 50 – 75% at a minimum with periods of 100% travel
  • Experience with adaptive modeling
  • Understanding of SQL, XML, and real time decisioning
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and Project Delivery Process
  • Understanding of the principles behind Object-Oriented programming languages
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies desired
  • User Interface Design
  • Certified Lead System Architect (LSA) and Certified Pega Marketing Consultant (CPMC) certification
