Upping the Insight: Introducing Merkle | Aquila

On Monday, July 3, 2017, Merkle acquired Aquila Insight, one of the largest independent data analytics consultancies in the UK.

Using cutting-edge technology, Aquila Insight specialises in developing analytical and data-driven business strategies to drive ROI for brands including Sony, Tesco Bank, and Royal Bank of Scotland.

Building a predictive analytics and big data capability across Europe is crucial as we bolster our status as the authority in people-based marketing; Aquila’s combined tech and analytics specialisation will provide a significant boost to our expertise at Merkle for both the UK and European market.

Led by joint CEOs and co-founders John Brodie and Warwick Beresford-Jones, the company’s team of more than 60 statisticians and data scientists have joined the Merkle family as part of our European Marketing Solutions Group. 

Boosting our Digital Transformation Capabilities: Divisadero

We are also delighted to be incorporating Divisadero into Merkle Europe. Based in three locations across Spain, Divisadero uses data to fuel digital intelligence and business transformation.

With Santander, Vodafone and ING Direct as clients, its goal is “to transform data into information, and information into decision-making”. Divisadero’s capabilities include digital maturity assessments, strategic road mapping, technology benchmarking, data collection, analytics, and data activation. And through this acquisition, we greatly enhance our data and analytics offering, with particular expertise in Spanish markets.

Divisadero’s leadership team will remain at the helm as its 90 mathematicians, engineers and marketers become absorbed into the European Agency Services Group.
